Download now! Apps for learning English on your phone or tablet

Would you like to learn English on your phone or tablet?  Watch the video and then read the instructions to find out how you can download the "Big City, Small World" App.  There are lots of other Apps you can try as well. 

Big City Small World is an audio soap for learners of English brought to you by the British Council. This app is for Apple and Android devices.  It is one of a range of Apps available to help you learn English.  

Set in London, Big City, Small World follows the lives of a group of regulars in Tony's café.

The application includes:

  • Over 30 episodes to download or listen to via streaming.
  • 10 free cartoons to download with accompanying language learning points (swipe down to see them when marked with an arrow or 'i')
  • Audio character introductions

hello !i am new here ,but i feel very good because i like english language and i'd like to learn a lot about it,i am a student at british council in morroco more than 3 years,i have never learned english at any other school beford,thanks god to learn it only at british council,beceaus i think its the best place to learn this language,now im at upper intermediat 2 ,but i need more classes,and more efforts,if someone has some advices ,i'll be glad if he talk to me :)

I jyoti luthra. i Live in India. I am Teacher But still believe i need more to learn. I am not english language teacher. But to improve my english skill i visit this site daily. I think learning is whole life process. Thanks to ESOL. I really like it.

My name is wahid mehmood ,I lived in UAE .I come from to pakistan to here in UAE for earn . Now am doing job here in UAE as a Srcurity officer . As a Security officer I meet with a lot of people onwork base because of my job demand. I communicate to other people for save them life and protect them to difficulteis or we can say incidends . In this condion some time I had face difficulteis with people because of language conversation . I eknowledge that my english speaking power is not good . So finally I decide that I must joine a english language cours or classes to improve my self in english language . I know english is a second langauge of the world . And its very important or needable thing to communicate to other . I feel very proud to b a part of this family . And I hope u people help me to improve my self . And I can servive esaily in whole world ,its also very needable for me in future ,if I gote a chance in UK or other eyurop contary for job I easily availe it. ESOL is a good plat form for the people where people easily learne batter english . And they didn't feel shy to communicate to other thanks ESOL and also british council
