This lesson develops learners’ ability to read and understand a letter about going into hospital for an operation. They will learn important new vocabulary related to hospitals, then use a range of reading strategies to elicit the main points and then specific information from the letter.
This lesson helps learners to write a simple text message. Learners will practise using related grammar (can and can’t), spelling (days of the week) and punctuation (capital letters and full stops) to enable them to write a short text message.
This lesson presents an example text about family. Learners match sentence halves, and reorder jumbled sentences. There are exercises to review family vocabulary and practise the spelling, and to practise am / is / are and their contractions. Finally, the learners write their own text.

This lesson develops learners’ ability to describe a person, using the context of a lost child in a supermarket. The learners watch a video and then complete activities to check comprehension and practise colour and clothing vocabulary.
