Improving your reading with Quick Reads books

Would you like to encourage your students to read for pleasure by introducing them to a wonderful series of popular books? This lesson introduces the students to Quick Reads, which are accessible books for emerging readers.

A new country, a new life and new challenges

These activities are based on a story written by Xiao, who moved to a city in the UK from the countryside in China. By doing the activities, you will improve your language skills as you read about Xiao’s first impressions of life in the UK.

Developing your career

This resource is aimed primarily at learners who are already working in retail or who want to find out more about working in the sector, but will appeal to any learners who need to talk about processes, prices or career development.
