Online CPD Modules

These modules are designed for ESOL teachers at a range of levels, to help you develop your teaching skills, knowledge and professional practice.

Each of the modules includes a series of interactive tasks, which will give you feedback and encourage you to assimilate what you have learnt, reflect on it and apply it in the classroom.

    This module is about teaching ESOL to multicultural groups in the ESOL classroom.

    It is aimed primarily at practising ESOL teachers who are interested in developing a greater understanding of cultural differences and how cultural differences affect language learning.

    This is the first of two modules about developing accuracy with ESOL learners.  This one is about accuracy in speaking.  It is aimed at qualified, practising teachers who are interested in developing and extending their strategies for working on accuracy in spoken English (stages 2-4 on the professional development framework).

    This module is part 1 of "Using the Internet with ESOL Students". It is suitable for teachers who would consider themselves to be at levels 3-6 of the CPD framework.

    This module is part 2 of "Using the Internet with ESOL Students". It is suitable for teachers who would consider themselves to be at levels 3-6 of the CPD framework.

    This interactive module helps you to answer the question "What is ESOL?" It is suitable for teachers at stages 1-3 of the CPD framework and contains interactive activities to help you think through some of the main themes of the module. It should take about 45 minutes to complete and there are suggestions for further reading.
