This lesson gives students the opportunity to find out about what happens on April Fool’s Day, April 1st, in the UK. It’s the one day of the year when it’s acceptable to play jokes on your friends and colleagues. Many countries have their own equivalent of April Fool’s Day.

April Fools' Day is conventionally called Hunt-the-Gowk Day is Scots for a cuckoo or a silly person, even though this person's name has fallen into abandonment.
