This resource is taken from the Be safe UK series of resources which aims to give learners the confidence needed to be able to call for help in the event of an emergency.

Going for chips

This lesson is based on a short video about a family who has a takeaway meal from the chip shop every Friday. Learners will develop their knowledge about fish and chips and how, for many people, a takeaway meal is an enjoyable treat.

A birthday party

This lesson is based on a video about a child attending a birthday party in the UK.

From picture to story

This activity mainly provides writing practice but also practises question forms and encourages creativity. It is a student-centred activity which encourages collaboration and teamwork.

Talking about the weather

This lesson develops learners’ speaking and listening skills in the context of talking about the weather. Learners are introduced to vocabulary and phrases for describing the weather, and giving an opinion about the weather.
