Money conversations

Money conversations

This is a lesson based on money, though students’ own attitudes can be kept private if they so desire. And it can remain so, but as a conversation topic, money is a veritable gold mine!

Budgeting your money

A budget is a plan to show how much money you earn and how much money you spend.

Making a budget

This lesson is about understanding the purpose and practice of making a personal budget. It provides learners with information about how to complete a budget and gives practice at discussing issues around money, such as debt.

I can’t see a price

‘Working in a Shop’ is aimed primarily at learners who are already working in retail or who want to find out more about working in the sector, but will appeal to any learners who need to talk about processes, prices or career development. The resource uses authentic sound recordings as a springboard for practice in listening, speaking, writing and numeracy skills within this context.

Giving a short presentation: money

This activity will help you prepare for ESOL speaking examinations and give short, informal presentations. You will be able to hear real ESOL learners trying out the activities, and compare your speaking with theirs. In this activity, Iwona and Kelly talk about money.
