Dictation: relationships

This lesson is about the relationships students have. The tasks allows for discussion and personalisation and can lead to stronger group cohesion as the students learn more about each others’ lives. It provides practice in all four skills.

Big numbers

Lots of our students have problems with big numbers. Sometimes they don’t know where to say ‘and’. Sometimes they confuse numbers like ‘sixteen’ and ‘sixty’. In this lesson students revise big numbers in a fun way. First they play a guessing game, then they play Bingo! They finish with a pair work jigsaw reading activity.

I can’t see a price

‘Working in a Shop’ is aimed primarily at learners who are already working in retail or who want to find out more about working in the sector, but will appeal to any learners who need to talk about processes, prices or career development. The resource uses authentic sound recordings as a springboard for practice in listening, speaking, writing and numeracy skills within this context.
