Memories

This lesson focuses on the theme of memory, and there is work on collocation and idioms. The lesson takes an integrated approach to allow for practice in all four skills.

Chain story telling

Students use photos of objects, animals or people to re-tell a memorable event from their lives.

One of those days: past perfect

Have you ever had a really bad day? Watch the video of Anne talking about when she had one of those terrible days.

Making it up: phrasal verb stories

A persistent problem area for students is phrasal verbs. This story activity presents the verbs in a context helping the students to work out the meaning. It is also memorable so it's easier for students to remember them too.

A job interview

This lesson is based on a short video, which shows someone going for a job interview. Learners develop their knowledge about applying for jobs and the interview process. They will develop their listening skills, learn new vocabulary, revise the past simple tense as well as take part in a mock job interview.
