This lesson develops the skills needed for shopping in a department store. It expands the students’ vocabulary of items that can be bought in a department store and enables them to practise a simple conversation about how to ask where things are.
This lesson is about car boot sales and their place in modern society in the UK. Students will be given the opportunity to read about car boot sales and develop their vocabulary and discussion skills at the same time. They will also focus on a typical conversation at a car boot sale to give them more confidence when they attend an event of this kind.
This is the first of two lessons introducing the topic of department stores. Students will develop their vocabulary to talk about the different floors and departments and practise asking and answering questions to find out where departments are situated.
This lesson builds learners’ range of vocabulary in the context of shopping and aims to develop their confidence in reading and writing shopping lists. It also develops learners’ visual literacy through watching a short video called ‘Helping our neighbours’.
